Save a Bookmark – YouTube RSS feed items come as embedded Flash players. This is usefull if you want to view them on the Internet with some online feed reader, but it is not ok for offline viewers, where you fetch feed items and view them later without connection to Internet. For example this can be usefull for podcast programs in mobile phones or PSP. So with such phone, you can subscribe to YouTube feed here, simply download items while you are at home through Wi-Fi and watch them on the go later.

Podcasting Tools – Tim Pritlove spricht.

Tim Pritlove vom Chaos Computer Club schreibt Ã¼ber die [eingesetzte Hardware](http://tim.geekheim.de/2007⁄10/03/mein-podcasting-setup/) bei seinen exzellenten Chaosradio-Express-Podcasts. Eine Interessante Geschichte, auch fÃ¼r Audio-Laien wie mich. Tim schreibt nicht nur Ã¼ber sein aktuelles Setup, sondern auch wie es dazu kam, welche Varianten er ausprobiert hat, um dahin zu kommen.

> Das erste Setup mit den Kondensatormikrofonen hatte seine Nachteile. Abgesehen vom Preis braucht man Stative fÃ¼r die Mikros, ist daher recht eingeschrÃ¤nkt in seiner Bewegungsfreiheit und die hohe QualitÃ¤t der Mikrofone sorgt dafÃ¼r, dass jedes Rascheln mit aufgenommen wird. Das unangenehmste war aber, dass man lange zum Auf‑ und Abbauen braucht, eine Menge schleppen muss und daher die SpontanitÃ¤t fehlt.

Sein Ziel: Spontan, aber RadioqualitÃ¤t. Nicht unbedingt so Ã¼blich, aber fÃ¼r die Podcaster *out there* sicherlich eine bekannte Fragestellung.

Und, zum GlÃ¼ck fÃ¼r uns alle: Tim verwendet mittlerweile sein MacBook Pro (schÃ¤tze ich mal, nachdem ihm erst vor einiger Zeit das Powerbook geklaut wurde):

> Was mich zu meiner bisherigen und in gewisser Hinsicht wohl auch meiner zukÃ¼nftigen Aufnahmetechnik bringt: das Live-Recording auf dem Mac. Ich setze dafÃ¼r Ableton Live ein, was zwar total overpowered ist, sich aber super bedienen lÃ¤sst (es ist schlieÃŸlich, der Name spricht BÃ¤nde, fÃ¼r den Live-Betrieb optimiert) und ein paar Dinge tut, die fÃ¼r das Podcasting segensreich sind.

Es gibt durchaus auch andere Alternativen, mit denen Podcasts am Mac aufgenommen werden kÃ¶nnen. Nicht zuletzt packt Apple sein GarageBand mit in die iLife-suite rein. Mittlerweile kann GarageBand auch einiges was zumindest so aussieht, als ob es fÃ¼r die Aufnahme des Podcasts auch was taugen kÃ¶nnte, oder dann halt im Nachhinein die Aufarbeitung, Kapitelerstellung und alles was man braucht, um schÃ¶ne Podcasts Ã¼ber iTunes zu verÃ¶ffentlichen. Klaro, Apple, alles in einem Sack — Ã¤h ja (vor allem die iPhone-Fans unter euch dÃ¼rften grade schmerzhaft gezuckt haben.).

Wenn wir schon bei der Aufarbeitung sind: Tim meint dazu folgendes:

> Ein Podcaster kann da viel Zeit verlieren und ich wÃ¼rde es lieben, wenn ich meine Produktionszeit nach der Aufnahme spÃ¼rbar verkÃ¼rzen kÃ¶nnte. Derzeit liegt sie bei ca. der zweifachen Zeit der eigentlichen Aufnahme. Das heiÃŸt, dass ein 2-Stunden-Interview mich fast einen ganzen Tag kostet (inkl. Vorbereitung und Nachbereitung). Das ist zu viel.

Also an alle MÃ¶chtegernpodcaster: viel Zeit einplanen! Oder auf QualitÃ¤t verzichten. Und **das** muÃŸ man Tim schon lassen: seine Podcasts sind nicht nur inhaltlich allererste Sahne!

While thewhole idea of Sciencecast.net is a very promising one – Ⅰ just had to stop listening to it after about 5 minutes, Ⅰ could not stand the speech melody any more. Ⅰ have tried a few podcasts – most of them haven’t survived a third show on my iPod – mostly because they are too long, to boring or Ⅰ am just not in the mood. But one show has won a permanent spot on my feed subscription list: Grape Radio. If you are just merely interested in learning about wine – this is the show to listen to.
