Bookmarks for November 10th through November 12th

12. November 2009

These are my links for November 10th through November 12th:

  • Tango Mercurio –
  • Sharna Fabiano’s listing of Non-Tango tracks –
  • Tango Argentino de Tejas – Stephen Brown's tango page; resources around Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas
  • Cell Size and Scale –
  • Irene and Man Yung’s Tango Blog: Buenos Aires 2008 – Part 4 – Your partner can be a world-famous show (or even salon) tango instructor, or the most skilled follower in the local tango community, but she would still not come close to what dancing with a milonguera like Elba (or Susy Tilbe – Man Yung had a chance to dance with her on the first day of our first visit to Buenos Aires) feels like. "Milonguera" seems to be a state of mind that could be transmitted to the leader when the milonguera follows. It is a deep feeling, which also feels like complete freedom. You don't have to worry about whether your partner can follow or not follow, or whether something would be "too tricky" or "too plain" or "too easy" or "too difficult". The milonguera dances to enjoy the dance, she is not anxious about being able to follow everything that the leader is trying to do (even though she can, and she does), nor does she care. It was as if Elba had given Man Yung the order to "dance, dance!" and that was all he needed to do – to dance.
  • Are You a Leading Cheater? « Movement Invites Movement – Why can’t Jorge make the follower do what he wants? The answer lies in the question: the word “make”. It is not in his nature, his personality, or his dance to “make” a follower do anything. If he feels that his follower cannot follow a certain movement, he simply will not do it again.

coffeeblogger

24. September 2007

Today (this sounds like Ⅰ was posting to this blog in a regular mode…) Ⅰ would like to present you a blog from by blogroll: [Jonathan’s Coffeeblog](http://doublesquids.net/coffeeblog/„Jonathan’s Coffeeblog: Homepage“). A fellow coffee-lover Jon is, but it seems he has many other interests as well, especially comics. And, incidentally Ⅰ also have re-discovered an app that came bundled with my Mac: [ComicLife](http://plasq.com/„plasq.com – Main >“). Ⅰ assume that is what Jon uses as well, but see for yourself, his style is stunning, clever and just fun to read:

![jon coffeeblog](http://www.dekay.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007⁄09/jon-coffeeblog.png)

And speaking of style: his blog’s design is interesting,. Definitely not as boring as my „off the shelf don’t have the time to redesign“-[K2](http://getk2.com/„K2″) theme. And if you like the curious, mind-expanding look at things close to everyday life (like „[what is bright coffee?](http://www.doublesquids.net/coffeeblog/archive/ethiopia.html „Jonathan’s Coffeeblog“)“), or some exciting piece of history that you never knew anyone would be telling you… (like [Hulagu’s exit strategy](http://www.doublesquids.net/coffeeblog/archive/hulaguse.html „Jonathan’s Coffeeblog“)).

Go, check it out, not only if you like coffee, but especially if you like to be surprised and entertained while being educated as well ;)

Tango blogs

8. July 2007

Times have changed, it seems. Tango has reached the blogosphere, much more than when Ⅰ started this blog, it seems ages ago. Ⅰ haven’t really had the chance to keep up with the developments, as you might have noticed if you took a look at the archives: my tango blogging was sparse the last year or even longer. So was my dancing.

Here’s a list of current (2007–07) tango blogs: (probably not really complete, unrated and uncensored)
