Interweb connectivity through ping-/trackback

I am pretty sure someone else has already thought about this…: I would love to have easier ways to integrate/collect my online activities. When I post a comment to a weblog I would love to also have that comment available at my own site, in order to easily follow up on other’s questions, or whatever I want to do with it. This could probably be done with a pingback or trackback from the comment hoster’s blog to mine - maybe to a special page/category there. “my comments elsewhere” or so - thus creating a much more inter-linked web than it is now. I can easily integrate del.icio.us bookmarks here, flickr images there - now what is missing is some way of trackback for forums, guestbooks (well, do they even exist anymore?), usenet (would be quite cool if google groups would send pingbacks to my site…) In the end it would be an easy thing to collect all my activities at my place, without needing to host copies of stuff, without me hunting through various google-linksearches and whatever else. I suppose a more thoroug integration of pingbacks/trackbacks could also create a bunch of meta-information on the web! Imagine these interconnectivities created automatically, semi-automatically instead of manually (as it is now) - we would probably drown in the added meta-info stuff thrown at us!

Of course: this will be heaven for spammers and hell for the poor coders at google who will need to extract valuable information from an information overload.! Go for it!

some may spurn me of going against the web-iness of the web and distributed services, but this is generally what i’m trying to accomplish on my own pet website. part frustration of so many standards and nothing that played nice them all, the quickest and easiest solution was a centralized website that “did it all”, but kept playing nice with all the other established ways of linking to everyone else. of course, i’ve still to expose feeds and ping urls of my own.

i’m not sure if i’m making much sense.. have a look-see and tell me if it’s somewhat related to what you envision.

Isn’t this just del.icio.us and an RSS reader?
Most comment systems use permalinks, so this should work just fine.

I would like a copy of everything here on my site… though. Of course I could delicious everything I do and then try to make sense via tags… maybe this is almost the solution, I just need to somehow parse and cache the delicious data…?!
