Improve your handwriting?

The Google Groups : 43 Folders is proving to be an interesting and inspiring read every day. The recent thread about Handwriting is really cool: Brandon’s original question was:

It boggles my mind how people can put pen to paper and have this beautiful script flow across the page. How many people have had to over-come horrible handwriting when moving over to the Hipster or moleskin? What resources have they used to improve their handwriting? Obviously practice, practice, practice and more practice is a part of the solution but what resources were used to develop style/form?

And pretty soon a link on the D’Nealean system for block-letter handwriting came up. I do not know what people in the US learned twenty years ago - but it sure looks quite like the style what I learned in elementary school back in the 80s. However - my handwriting still sucks - and the daily use of computers doesn’t make it better.

Another good link to learn italic handwriting (even more than that at the same page) contains the “classic” book Operina by Arrighi.

YOu could do a lot worse than “Teach Yourself Better Handwriting” http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0844237809

It worked wonders for my handwriting in a very short time. It focuses on being able to write legibly and quickly. Italic handwriting is wonderful for ornate scripts, but won’t help you much when you’re quickly writing down your address to give to someone.
